Experienced Corporate Communications Expert Carlton James
Carlton James has more than 35 years of experience in corporate communications and has worked across South America, Africa, and the Caribbean. Currently a director at the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI), Carlton James chairs the Marketing Committee.
Previously, Carlton James was a public and government affairs manager and director of government relations for ExxonMobil-Guyana. He worked to facilitate communication between the corporation and the Guyanese government, as well as private industry workers and local communities. One of his projects included the creation of a video to explain ExxonMobil’s Liza Project and its goals. Mr. James has also served as a communications advisor to several other organizations, including World Wildlife Fund, Conservation International, the Office of the Vice President of Suriname, the United Nations Development Programme, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, and the Caribbean Development Bank. He has particular experience in outreach to indigenous communities and the development of public engagement strategies. |
